Angie Hong is originally from Atlanta and has training in classical piano and music therapy. As a board-certified music therapist she worked with children and adults of all abilities and started her own practice in Durham, NC. Angie slowly transitioned into her call as a worship leader focusing on the intersection of reconciliation and worship. She started Menders, a worship band, and through them has learned many hard lessons on the challenges of leading worship within a diverse team of people. She has had the privilege of exploring these themes in worship through: The Duke Divinity School Center for Reconciliation, Christian Community Development Association, Arrabon, InterVarsity, and The Justice Conference. Angie has also started applying all of these experiences in regular Sunday worship services as the music minister at CityWell, a multiethnic church, and writes about worship in her blog, angiekayhong.com. Angie lives in Durham, NC with her husband Harold and two sons, Hudson and Rowan. In her spare time she likes to spend time with friends and eat.
